ΤΡΑΤΑ

Many, many years ago (definately until 1952), at the exact spot where the restaurant TRATA is located today, there were the warehouses where the fishermen of the Agios Georgios area stored their special nets, the famous "trata"! And this wonderful scene right in front of the restaurant was the place where they fished using the method of... "pezotrata"!

...bought this place a few years after a royal decree banned this fishing method in Greece. At that time it was an abandoned two-rooms building, fishing nets storage. He turned it into a small summer tavern and named it "TRATA," to remind people of the glorious fishing past of the area.

...have passed since then and the business has been passed on to his grandson. Giannis first started working in Trata when he was just 10 years old, and 22 years later he took it over on his own. Gradualy he developed TRATA into a sophisticated, traditional – yet modern at the same time – restaurant & beach bar, always listening to the hearts of his customers.
